Mystic Stitch was founded in the United States by Kelly Morgante in 2001. The business has grown so quickly that Kelly’s counted cross stitch patterns are now distributed to thirty countries worldwide. Country Designs were one of the first businesses to supply Mystic Stitch patterns in the UK and we have been a major supporter of Kelly’s work ever since. Mystic Stitch have licence agreements with many major artists (and their agents) to adapt their work to counted cross stitch and, in so doing, to provide the opportunity for stitchers to create their own masterpieces.

Mystic Stitch’s list of artists include Maxine Gadd - world renowned for her unique fantasy artwork such as Aurelia, Delphine, Lisandrea, Egyptian and Relic. Michael Matherly who has produced haunting masterpieces like The River of Time, Evening Lights, Call of the Wild and Visions. James Lee whose skilful use of light and shade is particularly evident in his landscape designs such as Peaceful Reflections, Guardian of Light, Mission Creek II and Enter the Light and Egidio Antonaccio whose classical floral and landscape designs are aptly illustrated with Afternoon Repose, Along the Bridge and Seaside Villa.

All Mystic Stitch patterns use DMC stranded cotton and there is no backstitching or half stitches involved in completing the projects. They are rich in colour because Kelly reproduces all the colours evident in the original artwork. Country Designs sell kits as well as patterns and if a kit is not featured on our website, it can usually be made on request via our high quality kit making service.
